Experience
Experienced Tutor- 1 Year I want to be a tutor, because students who struggled throughout the school year will have difficulty going into the next grade level. So trying to ease and make it less difficult for them will help them succeed. I have my Masters of Arts Degree in Special Education. I have my teaching Certifications in K-6 Elementary, Students of Disabilities, and Middle School Social Studies. I was trained in McRel evaluation system by attending professional development while student teaching. I have experience in the McRel and Stronge teaching evaluations while filling two separate Maternity Positions. I just finished a Maternity leave position in a 5th grade self-contained classroom on March 6, 2015. I have tested students in DIBELS, and DRA’s. I have written Student Growth Objectives (SGO) and benchmarked students. I assisted on the rewriting of the curriculum of Language arts with my Cooperating Teacher during my time student teaching. While teaching I used Google Docs to track data and share it with other teachers in the building. I maintained a daily Wiki Page for the parents to be able to look upon. During my time teaching I assisted in making online surveys in Google Docs. I also observed and collaborated with higher-grade levels and taught lessons in the 5th grade level as well. I did use the smart board on a daily basis for my lessons. For Math and Language Arts I used Pearson Online Programs, as well as Houghton Mifflin Harcourt, which really got the students involved. I as well used Readers and Writing Workshop in one of the school districts in which I was at. I have conducted Parent teacher Conferences where I have worked. I attended and helped make the lesson for Curriculum Night at Selzer School, during Student Teaching. I firmly believe that being a male in the elementary level can have a tremendous and positive outcome, and that having a male can be a great role model.

Hobbies
My interests are sports such as Football, Hockey, Baseball, and Basketball. I played football in college, and I have coach football at the high school level. I have taught in the elementary level, and middle school level. I believe the skills and attributes that are necessary to be an outstanding teacher are to be able to control the classroom, influence the students whom you are teaching, be capable of keeping the students interested in what is being taught, and keep learning an adventure. I also believe that an outstanding teacher is a life-long learner. An outstanding teacher is always learning, and trying to learn new ways how to become a better teacher. This means by learning new methods, new ways to approach the curriculum and students, and learning new ways to become a better role model to the student body. I want to learn ways to become a better and outstanding teacher every year. To me these attributes are essential when you want to be an outstanding teacher. Outstanding teacher are capable of keeping their students involved and wanting to learn more in the classroom. An outstanding teacher also has to be able to earn the respect and be capable of controlling the classroom. Students, especially in the elementary schools are still new to school. I want to be able to keep the learning fun, because if you can keep learning fun, it will make the students want to come back to school the next day and want to learn.
